The Canon 5D Classic is a cult classic, it is loved by many for many reasons a big part of that is the colors you can get with it.

It is only 12 mp but the colors it gives are hard to beat. It is a true crossover between film and digital, no "auto ISO" limited shooting modes. It was known for the possibility of the mirror falling out, it is clunky and LOUD but for all those things and more I love it. I keep it in my car as my car camera, in the winter the cold can kill the battery, in the summer you worry about the heat but that way I have a camera in the car all the time. AND if someone steals it it is cheap to replace.

A meme I wish I could find again said "someone saw my 5D Classic in my car and broke in... and left me another one"

For all those who have or had a 5D Classic lets see your work with it!

Since these are all taken with the 5D if the camera and lens info on the image don't tell the lens please let us know.

I started with the Canon 40D, then after 2 years or so I bought a used 5D. I still remember seeing the first images on the big screen at home. They blew me away. And for 6 months or so I shot birds with the 5D. Some of my all time favourite bird shots were taken with it. But it was no action camera so in the end I bought a 1DIIN, also used. I stayed with 1D bodies ever since.

It's bed time for me now, but I'll add images to this thread tomorrow.

Me too, I had the 400d / rebel xti and bought a used 5d that blew my mind
After buying the 1DIIN for birds, I still used the 5D for many years for all non-bird shots. All my tabletop photography for the games on POTN was done with the 5D. The Where’s Nifty shots too. I stopped using it after buying the R6. But yeah, I loved that camera.

I went back into my catalogue and found a series of shots from my first outings with the camera. Lots of Grey herons around so that's what I shot that first time. But oh my, the files were so great. I had loved my 40D, but this was in another league.

This was in the park and then a man arrived with a bag full of chicken parts. So herons came from all over the park and it gave me a unique opportunity to shoot them from very close. I have a few of these shots too. These were the shots that absolutely blew me away.
