Nice that you could get in close for that extra detail on the butterfly itself.

The old 300/4L was, is a great lens, especially for these semi macro shots. But too shallow DOF to get everything in focus. But I do like the shot. One of my better butterfly shots for sure.

I always wondered why Hairstreak Butterfly's eyes always seemed sort of fuzzy and out of focus. Then I got this photo. Now I know, they are fuzzy!

It's still a really nice image though with the butterfly on the red flower. It's also a pretty butterfly.

Agreed, and those are the only reasons I posted it. It is pretty.

Edit: I could be wrong, but it might be a common buckeye. I looks similar in some ways.
