That bridge reminds me of some bridges we have here. I have some pics of it, also from years ago. I'll go look.

Anaconda bridge in Amsterdam. It's one of 4 or 5 red bridges, built in this style. This is the second in the row I think. They had to find a way to make the canal accessible for ships. But it's definitely not a bridge for the elderly...
This bridge won a prize by the way. I don't remember which one, some international something.

I think structures like that have a beauty all of their own.
